Genius Loci Performance

Genius Loci Performance is an art company addressing to 'the spirit of place' through performance art, theater, dance and music.

Our creation is rooted in body work as way to practice movement awareness, site-sensitivity and the ability to resonate with others. Bodily expression is explored through group practices; the final creation takes the shape of a site-specific performance engaging with space and people.

Born and based in Florence (IT), since 2019 GLP has been artist-in-residence at MAD - Murate Art District for five years with multiple workshops, masterclasses and conferences. Since 2024, GLP has been hosted by The Square Firenze with the project "Il Teatro dell'Infinito" (The Theater of Infinity).

RITUAL THEATRE

Ritual Theatre is theatre before it was theatre itself. It is the community gathered around a sacred space to share an experience of bodies, gestures, words and images. A journey back to the dimension of myth, awakening the ritual instict in each of us. Through our own body we can experience the entire universe, its wholeness and multiplicity at once.

Over each annual workshop, participants get trained in body pratices to develop self-awareness and collective expression. The final creation arisen from the group practice is a lively, vibrant action engaging the audience in a collective ritual.
